We are proud and honored to announce that the Ninth Annual Tasting Event, which was held on Sunday, Feb. 28,, at the St James City Civic Center, was sold out. The response from the Pine Island Community was amazing.

The $8,000 check was given to Nancy Buthman, director for The Beacon of Hope’s Senior Programs, a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to helping the needs of the Greater Pine Island Community, at the Matlacha Hookers’ general meeting at the Elks.

We are so thankful for the more than 80 Pine Island businesses and families that donated items to the silent auction and money to offset the cost of running the event. Here is list of the monetary food and beverage sponsors included, in alphabetical order:

Brinson, III, P.A., Bob and Annie’s Boat Yard, Bokeelia Art Gallery, Tom and Joyce Boyer, Theodore F Bluey, Cutting Ties Hair Salon, Florida Complete Realty, Gerard’s Tree Service, Gwen Galpin-Franklin Hamilton Realty, Jason’s Deli, Jeremy Meier’s Landscaping, Pelletier Rickert Physical Therapy, Pine Island Animal Clinic, Pine Island Pizza, Pine Island Pools, Pine Island Tax & Accounting Co., Stearns Custom Builders, Inc, Bob and Jamie Richard, Riverdale Dental Associates, Joe Smith – Builder, Craig and Julie Stein.

Special thanks to CW Fudge for more than 5 years of support and delicious desserts that always make our Tasting Events special. Finally, thank you to Pine Island Sound and the St. James City Civic Center for their hospitality.

If you would like to participate in our Recycle Program, it would be greatly appreciated. If you would consider donating your silent auction basket back to us for next year’s event, simply drop it off at Trader’s Hitching Post in Matlacha, Little Lilly’s Deli in Bokeelia, or Beacon of Hope in Saint James City.
