To the editor:

The  mission of the Friends of the Pine Island Library is to benefit and enrich the greater Pine Island community through support of the Pine Island Public Library.  We encourage literacy, strive to give children an educational head start and foster life-long learning and recreation for adults. In the last four years, Friends have contributed over $32,000 to the Lee County Library System for Pine Island library activities including the summer reading program.

Currently, the Nomination Committee is looking for candidates to fill the positions of secretary and president.  Members will be electing someone to fill each of the roles at the Feb. 18 (Zoom) meeting.
