SFWMD’s mandatory irrigation restrictions rescinded

The City of Cape Coral was notified Thursday that the mandatory one-day a week irrigation restrictions that were implemented by the South Florida Water Management District will be rescinded, effective June 19.

These restrictions were put into place on April 25 and are being lifted due to the recent rainfall and improved water levels in area aquifers.

Here is the City’s year-round watering schedule that was in place before the SFWMD restrictions. This schedule will resume on June 19.

* Monday and Friday: Midnight to 4 a.m. for addresses ending in 0

* Monday and Friday: 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. for addresses ending in 1

* Wednesday and Saturday: Midnight to 4 a.m. for addresses ending in 3 and 5

* Wednesday and Saturday: 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. for addresses ending in 7 and 9

* Thursday and Sunday: Midnight to 4 a.m. for addresses ending in 2 and 4

* Thursday and Sunday: 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. for addresses ending in 6 and 8

Businesses, properties or developments up to and including five acres in size with irrigation systems that must irrigate multiple properties with different watering times will be allowed to water on Monday and Friday from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. This includes but is not limited to duplexes, multi-family units, compound use and mixed use units.

Businesses, properties or developments more than five acres in size with irrigation systems that simultaneously irrigate multiple properties with different watering times shall be allowed to water on Monday and Friday from 12 a.m. to 8 a.m. This includes but is not limited to multi-family, compound-use and mixed-use units.
