Abortion should not be taxpayer funded

By Staff | Mar 25, 2020

To the editor:

I’d like to speak to the idea that abortion is not tax funded. I am so glad there are those who want to get away from any “fake news” about abortion! Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest abortion provider and is supported by our tax dollars.

Refer to the following: go to forbes.com and hit search for Chris Conover’s article, “Are American Taxpayers Paying for Abortions?”

When abortion became legal in 1973, a mother’s womb became the most dangerous place for an American to be. A mother’s womb!!! Remember we all started there, right! We who were born were all fortunate enough to have pro-life parents. Since 1973 millions of little boy and girl babies have not been born. They did not have pro-life parents. They were aborted. Shouldn’t they have the right to be born like we were?

The argument is made that these are crisis situations that only the doctor and the mother have the right to make a decision about.

Let’s define a crisis situation. Is it when the mother’s health is in danger – in other words if the mother goes through with the birth she may die in the process? Yes, that sounds like a crisis. What about if a baby is conceived through rape or incest? Is that a crisis. Yes, but is abortion the only way to solve such a crisis? Does this mean the baby must die? Isn’t it a crisis to the baby that he or she may die? Why not punish the real perpetrator of the crime, the father, not the child? Abortion is not the only solution. Over 95% of abortions are not for endangerment to the mother’s health, rape or incest. (refer to: “Reasons given for having abortions in the United States” by Wm. Robert Johnston, johnstonarchive.net).

In other words abortion is being used mostly for birth control.

Is this a wise road to go down? Aborting babies? However we define God – do we think this is something the Creator would be pleased with?

And imagine, anesthesia is not being used on babies being aborted because it would be admitting there is a human being in there. Oh no, it’s not a human being, it’s a fetus. Let’s see, fetus is Latin for “with child.” Gosh, so that doesn’t work either. A fetus is a child. It is a child in there. Whew, the fake news about abortion is everywhere.

I would suggest dialing up Candace Owens on You Tube or on Prager University’s, The Candace Owens Show, to learn how the abortion industry has decimated the families of minorities and especially the African-American community.

Better yet, rent the movie, “Unplanned Parenthood” which is about Abby Johnson who is a former director of a Texas Planned Parenthood clinic. Abortion doesn’t help plan parenting, it destroys it !

Or even better, check out Bernard Nathanson who helped “legalize” abortion, was a director of an abortion clinic in NYC where as he says, he “presided over 60,000 deaths.” In the 1970s He had a change of heart when he saw an ultra sound of a real time abortion and became a powerful advocate for the pro-life movement.

Or even better check out Melissa Ohden who survived a saline abortion and wrote the book, “You Carried Me.” She is also the founder of an organization called, The Abortion Survivors Network. She and others listed here will be on a telecast this coming May 9 sponsored by Focus on the Family. Check it out, go to focusonthefamily.com for more information.

Or go to the National Right to Life website, nrlc.org and, if you have the stomach for it, look at the illustration of a D & E abortion “medical” procedure. Think about it, this is just an illustration, imagine what a real D & E abortion looks like. If that doesn’t make you pro-life, nothing will.

Check out the growing movement to install Safe Haven Baby Boxes where a mother can place her baby in a box at a fire station or some other facility for whatever reason, no questions asked – and the baby will be taken care of – she will live, not die which is what could happen at a Planned Parenthood clinic !

Come on, let’s work to save these babies and be there for the women (and men) who are facing tough issues relating to a pregnancy. There are hundreds of pro-life crisis pregnancy centers that can help women in crisis situations and their babies will live, not die. Let’s support those who fight for life ! Let’s not take it out on the babies !

Life is good. Death is bad.
