Support for Florida Humanities/Friends of Pine Island Library program appreciated

By Staff | Jan 22, 2020

To the editor:

Thank you to the Pine Island community of readers and history lovers for supporting the Florida Humanities/Friends of Pine Island Library program, “Florida Female Pioneers.” There was great promotion and coverage between ads and articles in the Pine Island Eagle, Centennial Bank’s marquee, Facebook and our Friends newsletter. The wonderful Pine Island United Methodist Church welcomed 90 people to a fascinating program presented by Dr. Peggy Macdonald. As always, Team Pichon handled all the AV needs without a hitch.

The next Florida Humanities/Friends of Pine Island Library program will be March 11 at 6:30 p.m. Dr. Gary Mormino, professor emeritus at the University of South Florida and described as a “Florida Treasure,” will talk about “Ten Foods that Define Florida.” The location of the talk has been moved from the Pine Island Library to the Pine Island United Methodist Church to accommodate what will surely be another great turnout!
