Little League sign-ups this Thursday and Saturday
Pine Island Little League will be holding sign-ups for its Spring Season in the upcoming weeks. All sign-ups will be held at the Little League concession stand behind the fire station at the Center.
Sign-up dates are:
– Jan. 31 5-7 p.m.
– Feb. 2 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Practices will begin the week of Feb. 4, and the season will run through May. The early registration fee is $50, and as always, thanks to the Bobby Holloway Jr. Memorial fund, no child will be turned away due to financial hardship. Multiple children from the same family will be discounted.
Please bring three proofs of address, and new players will need a birth certificate as well. All Pine Island and Matlacha children from the age of 4-12 welcome, and no experience is necessary. Register early, as the registration fee will increase to $60 as after these official sign-up dates.
The Pine Island Little League is a non-profit athletic organization that relies on registration fees, team sponsors and donations from the community to pay for the day-to-day operation of the only organized sports for children on Pine Island. Any business or civic organization wanting to sponsor either a team or a banner should contact Wendy Mills at GPILLpresident@outlook.com.
The league is also in need of coaches and volunteers from the community are always welcome.
