This weekend, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 3 and 4, Pine Islands newest yoga studio – Whole Soul Wellness Yoga – will be holding an open house.

Well known local yoga instructor Jaime Boswell, who taught yoga last year at the St. James City Civic Association, has opened her own studio at 13960 Stringfellow Road, Bokeelia.

“Whole Soul Wellness Yoga is a boutique yoga studio,” Boswell said. “Our mission is to help each person that walks through our door find more joy, peace and ease in life through skillful application of the various tools of yoga.”

Boswell has been practicing yoga since 2003.

“I simply wanted to feel better,” Boswell said.”A friend gave me some VHS tapes and I began doing yoga at home. I thought it was worth a try and within a week I knew I was getting results. With yoga you get an almost immediate sense of feeling better.

“Starting Monday (Oct. 29) through Friday (Nov. 2) from 2-5 p.m., we’ll be open for ‘Pop-In’ visits,” Boswell said. “People can stop in to chat, ask questions and see the studio.”

The studio offers classes in Yoga Tune-up, Strength and Stability, Relaxation and Meditation, Energizing, Meditative Flow and much more. Anyone that stops in for a visit or signs up will be entered in a drawing for a full set of yoga props, drop-in classes or initial yoga therapy sessions.

“During the two-day open house we will have 6 mini-classes to give people a chance to try different classes,” Boswell said. “Individual yoga class can be therapeutic or strength training or both. Yoga therapy can be a beneficial process for anyone and everyone but each student has to find their own way.”

Yoga can be beneficial if someone is facing a challenge to their overall well-being, whether it be a chronic illness, joint pain, trauma or emotional challenges.

“I often hear people say that they can’t practice yoga because of a health concern, they are too old, not flexible enough, not thin enough, or maybe even that they are not into the spiritual aspect,” Boswell said. “Whatever the reason, through my offerings in yoga therapy I hope to help people find the healing powers of yoga, in a way that uniquely fits their needs.”

Whole Soul Wellness Yoga is offered at the Bokeelia Wellness Center, 13960 Stringfellow Road, Bokeelia. For more information, call 239-851-5351, visit www.wholesoulwellnessyoga.com/ or email jaimeboswell@live.com
