A Cape Coal driver remained hospitalized on Tuesday following a serious crash last week.

Liliatne Meseguer, 20, was listed in fair condition at a local hospital, where she was taken for treatment on Friday after the accident at Andalusia Boulevard and Tropicana Parkway, according to officials.

Police reported that Meseguer was driving a BMW east on Tropicana at 7:58 a.m. when she approached the stop sign at Andalusia. After coming to a stop, she tried to turn left onto Andalusia and was T-boned by a southbound Acura, being driven by Kristopher Allen Mock, 19, also of the Cape.

Witnesses told police that Mock was headed south on Andalusia at a high rate of speed prior to the crash. He also began to skid before the front of his vehicle struck the driver’s side of the BMW.

All vehicles were redirected to the southwest, off the edge of the roadway.

Meseguer sustained multiple life-threatening injuries and was trauma-alerted to the hospital.

Mock sustained minor injuries and was also transported to a local hospital.

Police reported that he was treated and later released.

The accident is not alcohol or drug related, according to officials.
