St. James Civic’s Art Expo this weekend

The St. James City Civic Association will hold its 8th annual Art Expo this weekend. Friday and Satuday, Feb. 26 and 27. The expo features the works of local talent in the fine arts, fine crafts and photography fields.

“The opening ‘Meet the Artist’ reception is Friday (Feb. 26) evening at the St. James City Civic Association building from 7-8:30 p.m.,” Mary Ann Harms said. “This will be a wine and hors d’oeuvres reception that is open to the public. At that time entries will be judged and ribbons will be awarded.

“The art is a juried competition and the photos will be judged,” she contined. “I hope people come out to meet the artists and photographers. The sale and show is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.”

This year’s Art Expo artists include Sal Anastasio, Sara Aune, Peter Barston, Judy Bachelder, Corine Beving, Joanna Bowles, Jan Clement, Joe Comi, Barbara Dupre, Rachi Farrow, Eileen Felice, Carol Gray, Mary Ann Harms, Diane Horn, Carol Hoyem, Ken Johnson, Jack McManus, Shelly McManus, Lois Polaski-Mule, Roland Ruocco, Sandy Sacco, Lynn Sarda, Joan Scherer, David Schreiwer, Linda Schultz, Honora Seidler, Linda Selleck, Russ Wells and Wendy White.

Categories for photos are: People (including portraits); Landscape; Urbanscape; Nature; Creative/Abstract/Macro; Monochromatic (including sepia); and Local (photos unique to Florida).

Ribbons will be awarded for category winners. There will be a $100 cash prize for the “Best in Show” photo.
