Continuing its “Long Road Back” tour, the Todd Wolfe Band returns to Bert’s Bar Sunday, Feb. 21, from 3-6:30 p.m.

“The tour is in support of their critically-acclaimed album of the same name,” Bert’s owner Bernard Johnson said. “The band consists of Todd Wolfe on guitar and vocals; Roger Voss on drums and vocals and Justine Gardner on bass guitar and vocals.”

“Long Road Back” is Wolfe’s 9th LP since leaving Sheryl Crow’s band and the latest offering from the band. The album follows up their very successful 2013 release, “Miles To Go.”

“The new album is mostly originals that range from swampy grooves to all-out rockers and even a wistful ballad from which the title of the album was derived called, ‘I Stand Alone,'” Wolfe said. “It is a collection of bluesy flavored tracks with jam and rock-infused sounds that mesh perfectly.”

Fresh off a 200-day world tour, the native New Yorker and Lehigh Valley transplant has left his mark everywhere he has traveled and now, following tour dates in Japan and an 8-week tour of Europe, the band has an international fan base. Crow called him “one of the best guitarists I’ve ever played with.” Wolfe was lead guitarist for Crow from 1993-98.

Wolfe began playing in his hometown area of New York in 1979. The music reflects his musical tastes of Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Fleetwood Mac and other bluesy-rocking bands. Wolfe was heavily influenced by Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Hendrix and Michael Bloomfield.

Wolfe said he is especially proud of his current lineup with Voss on drums and Gardner on bass.

“Roger is a powerful pocket drummer and the young Ms. Gardner plays a deep groove,” Wolfe said.

Bert’s is located at 4271 Pine Island Road, Matlacha.
