Community Church to hold bazaar, auction
Pine Island Community Church is holding its 2nd Annual Island Bazaar Saturday, Feb. 21, beginning at 9 a.m. in the church parking lot at 5320 Doug Taylor Circle, St. James City.
The bazaar will include an auction, conducted by auctioneer Bruce Swanson, with the help of Johnnie Glisson, both of PICC; a blood drive, conducted by Karen Johnson; and live entertainment performed by Strange Arrangement from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The auction will be conducted at the north end of the church parking lot and will begin promptly at 10 a.m. Preview of items may begin at 9 a.m.
Among the many items to be auctioned off are fishing equipment and lures; lots of hand tools, mowers (both self-propelled and a rider mower), hedge trimmers; coins, including 1,800 wheat pennies and other coins; old books (with a collection of Louie LeMoire western books); cement bird bath; a rickshaw cart; silverware sets and many more household and furniture items.
The PICC Thrift Mall will be closed on the day of the auction.
The Bloodmobile will be located at the south end of the parking lot and will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donors are encouraged to come and donate blood. You must be 16 years of age or older and have not donated in the prior 56 days.
A brief questionnaire is required and the donation process itself takes only about 5 to 10 minutes of your time. Many benefit from the donation of blood, particularly those within our own congregation as well as family and friends of island residents.
The church is seeking vendors of any family-friendly item and encourage items such as fruits/vegetables, jewelry, original artwork, arts and craft items, flowers or plants. Any island business wishing to have a tent is encouraged to register by calling the PICC office at 239-283-9944, or stopping by the office at 5320 Doug Taylor Circle, Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon and filling out a vendor registration form.
Vendors are encouraged to bring their own tables/tents, but a limited number of tables are available from the church. Vendor booths will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Vendor booths are free of charge.
Admission and parking to the Bazaar are free and there is no charge for vendor registration. Come and enjoy a wonderful day of free fun and entertainment.
