Bokeelia Neighborhood Watch meeting Jan. 16

2 min read

To the editor:

To all of the members of our Neighborhood Watch, I hope you had a very Merry Christmas,

and hoping for you all to have a healthy and happy New Year.

A Neighborhood Watch meeting is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 16, at 6 p.m. All members are asked to attend this meeting. It will be held at the usual meeting place. Do to my work schedule, the day has changed, sorry.

I have asked for Deputy Wylie to attend to run the meeting and to please have answers to your concerns. I did request that another deputy, sergeant or lieutenant be present to help with your concerns if Deputy Wylie could not be present. And, of course, an always “open” invitation to our favorite Editor Ed (Franks), who will hopefully add some concerns to his notes to be used as a follow up to our meeting for those to read in case they can not attend.

It would be a great help to the deputies if you please write out your concerns prior to the meeting, drop them off to me no later than Jan. 10. This will give me time to forward the concerns, and time for them to have the answers you would like for your concerns. With all of the calls I receive, I know how many concerns you all have, I know how angry some of you are about the dismissal cluster at the elementary school, the speeding, etc.

I have dedicated my time, not a duty of the coordinator, to the problem at the school. The news is aware and has been there, we have remained in touch. I have started this mission and I plan on finishing it. No matter what the outcome. However, if more people called and complained to the school or to the deputies via non-emergency number, I’m sure things would move along at a quicker speed.

A little help please, the energy used in calling me could be used in a more positive way by calling the school or the dispatcher.

Hope to see you there.
