Gerald R. “Fuzzy” Adams, 91, of Lakeview, OH passed away Monday night, December 8, 2014 at Logan Acres Care Center, Bellefontaine, OH. Fuzzy was born on March 17, 1923 in Putnam County, OH to the late Steward & Myrtle Harter Adams. On January 18, 1943, he married the former Wilma Jean Krouse in Decator, IN and she preceded him in death on November 2, 2004. He was also preceded in death by six siblings, Harold Adams, Ethel Miller, Edith Smith, Hazel Gabbart, Patricia Laudick and Ruth Graf. He is survived by a son, Darrell (Jan) Adams of Luna Pier, MI, three daughters, Darlene (Gary) Crabb of Lima, OH, Denise (Peach) Broerman and Dee (Jeff Schetter) Stewart, both of Lakeview, OH, nine grandchildren, Monica, Valerie, Tonya, Trisha, Josh, Shaun, Tabitha, Colt, and Michele, six great grandchildren, Michaela, Mackenzie, Courtney, Kyler, Keegan, Maia Jean, and several nieces and nephews. Fuzzy was a 1943 graduate of Fort Jennings High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Normandy Invasion during WWII, where he sustained injuries and was a Purple Heart recipient. He retired from Clark Equipment in Lima, OH. Fuzzy was an active member of his community. He was a member of Elida Trinity Lutheran Church, Delphos VFW Post #3035, Delphos Eagles Aeries #471, life member of Disabled American Veterans Post #19 in Lima, a former member of Throttle Twisters Motorcycle club in Delphos, Paws and Taws Round and Square Dance Club, 50 year member of Garrett Wykoff F&AM #585 in Lima, Shawnee Commandry, El Karen Grotto, Columbus Grove Order of the Eastern Star #527, Dayton Funsters, and Life member of the Dayton Scottish Rite. He enjoyed woodworking, plastic canvas crafts and loved fishing in Florida Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Lima Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors provided by Lima VFW Post #1297. A Celebration of Fuzzy’s life will be held following services from 1-3 pm, Saturday at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Lakeview, OH 43331. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his name to Turkeyfoot Benefit Crew, PO Box 221, Lakeview, OH 43331. Arrangements are in the care of Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview.
