Shame on you
To the editor:
I am 3 months new to the island and was accepted into the Pine Island Community Church! The things they do are so great! Hardworking. Dedicated. And most of all full of God. I have fell in love with everyone who is involved! It’s amazing what they do!
Which brings me to the reason to this letter. The morning of Friday, Nov. 8, … my mother, Brenda Swett, called me and asked me to come to the church immediately to help clean up the inhumane vandalism that someone has done to the church. Trashed the garden area … broke tables, plants, fountains and some of the concrete. But that wasn’t the worst part … someone smeared animal feces on the church doors, church office sign, walls, picnic tables and umbrellas. The pastor’s door was caked with it. The sanctuary door was marked with an “X.” There were grocery store bags thrown everywhere that was soiled with feces. This is disgusting and classless.
Whoever took part in this criminal act will be found out whether it be word of mouth or a confession. But, I would like to extend a big shame on you to whoever was involved. This is still a church of God! I can assure you … if you aren’t dealt with your selfish act here on Earth … you will be dealt with when you stand at those gates. God Bless you … and you will remain in our prayers.
Thank you to those who helped pull the church back together. To Pastor Heidi … I love you. You continue to stand strong and spread the Word of God!
