Pine Island Playhouse is opening it’s second season with “Frankenstein,” Friday and Saturday, Oct. 17-18, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 19, at 2 p.m., at the Fishers of Men Lutheran Church.

The play is based solely on author Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein.” In the tale, the young chemist Victor Frankenstein gathers body parts to assemble a creature that he brings to life. He abandons the creature and it wreaks havoc in his life.

“I’m really excited about this show,” said Nichole Pichon, Pine Island Playhouse coordinator. “I don’t think our audience will expect the mix of emotions that I hope this show will pull out of them. You actually care for the creature at times.”

All Pine Island Playhouse productions are offered free to the public.

“We are very excited about our season this year and hope to see many new faces in the audience and at our auditions,” Pichon said.

The house will open 30 minutes prior to start times. Seating is on a first-come first-serve basis. For handicap seating, call Nichole at 239-677-9492.
