Dog saves Cape teen from possible abduction

A Cape Coral teen was saved from a possible abduction when the dog she was walking attacked the would-be assailant.

The 18-year-old woman was walking walking her dog in the neighborhood behind KFC on Del Prado around 9:30 p.m. when a man pulled up next to her, got out of his vehicle and approached her. She told officers he said she had a “nice dog” and then attempted to grab the dog’s leash from her arm/hand and then grabbed her by the arm.

The dog then lunged at the man and possibly bit the suspect on the arm, officials said.

The teen ran home and the man left in a darker four-door, mid-sized car” an unknown direction of travel.

The victim told police she walks her dog every night around the same time and she had never noticed the man or the vehicle before.

She described the man as white, in his mid- to late-40s, approximately 6 feet tall and “chubby.” She also said that one of his eyes looked different than the other, possibly due to an eye injury, and that he had a goate,e but only a day or two worth of growth. She also said he had on a gold watch and a ring.

“Cape Coral Police are asking residents to be vigilant and to contact the Cape Coral Police Department if you see any suspicious vehicles in your neighborhood or suspicious persons matching this description,” oficials said.
