First Bike Night of the season Saturday

3 min read

Bike Nights return for the eighth season to South Cape Coral starting this Saturday night, ending a five-month hiatus from the rumble and roar of thousands of bikes and bikers assembling for a night of fun, food and live entertainment.

It is the first of four Bike Nights held in the downtown district along Southeast 47th Terrace between Vincennes Boulevard and Coronado Parkway. The wildly popular Bike Nights are held in Cape Coral on the second Saturday of the months of October, December, February and April.

On alternative months, they are held in Fort Myers.

Bike Night is a great opportunity to get your motor running with new biker products and gear, eat great food, enjoy cool beverages and swing to a live rock-and-roll and country music night out on the town.

Typically there are 100 vendors on hand with an assortment of biker paraphernalia, food and beverage items for purchase from 5-10 p.m. It’s a motorcycle rock-and-roll event.

“We are continuing with our two stage format this year,” said Cape Coral Parks & Recreation special events coordinator Todd King. “We also are renewing our three slow bike races and other biker games. The bikers really enjoy doing those and the race winners get a $100 gift card to Harley-Davidson of Fort Myers.”

Entertainment on the rock stage for this first Bike Night of the season is headlined by 10,000 Views. Headlining on the country stage is Blackwater.

“It’s been a long wait since last April for the start to the season,” said King. “It’s a lot of fun.”

For one vendor, it also will provide a well-attended venue for their announcement of a major event coming to the Cape.

Among the vendor participants will be local organizers of an American Veterans Traveling Tribute event. The popular memorial wall replica will be in Cape Coral Nov. 13-17.

Organizers will be at Bike Night to both promote the event and to sell T-shirts with money raised going to veterans.

“This is the first introduction to the tribute,” said Joni Johnson, director of public relations for RE/MAX Realty Team, the major sponsor of the event.

“It is important that we as citizens of this great country recognize and honor the sacrifices of our military men and women,” said Yoselyn Hollow, broker owner. “My husband I have always felt this but it resonates even more with us as we have a son actively serving in the U.S. Infantry. The American Veterans Traveling Tribute offers the opportunity for people to view a replica of a beautiful memorial, which some may never have a chance to see. It allows us to pay respect to those who have given so much.”
