Police investigate shooting incident near Cape High

Cape Coral Police responded to a shooting incident in the McDonald’s parking lot next to Cape Coral High School around 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

According to an on-scene officer, some youths got in a fight towards the rear area of the McDonald’s drive-through when at least one pulled out a gun and shot it.

No one was hurt.

Det. Sgt. Dana S. Coston, Cape Coral Police Department spokesperson, said subjects fired an undisclosed number of rounds from a car in the parking lot at the restaurant. Officers conducted a high-risk car stop on the vehicle. The gun has been recovered and the investigation is ongoing.
