Cape Coral Police working bank robbery
Cape Coral Police detectives, forensics, patrol, and K9 units are currently on the scene of a bank robbery at the Iberia bank branch at 812 Del Prado Boulevard South.
A man wielding a gun entered the bank Wednesday morning around 9:40 a.m., threatened bank personnel, and demanded cash. He received an as-of-yet determined amount of cash and fled the bank on foot.
Cape Coral Police units are in the area looking for this suspect, and there is currently a large police presence in the area. Units will be on the scene for the next couple of hours, processing the crime scene.
“We will provide additional information as it becomes available,” police said.
Meanwhile Caloosa Elementary and Middle School remained on “lockdown” as of 11:50 a.m.
