Robert A. Waddell
Robert A. Waddell, 90, of Columbus, OH, died Friday, October 03, 2014. He was born August 17, 1924 in Clinton, IL to the late Jacob and Minnie (Bush) Waddell. He was a 1942 graduate of West High School and a 1950 graduate of OSU. He was a retired U.S. Navy Captain serving in WWII where he was a hard hat diver. He was an employee of the Defense Logistics Agency at DCSC, transferring to Ft. Belvoir, VA where he retired. He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, and a life member of the Association of the U.S. Navy and Reserve Officers Association. He was the 8th District Commander of the American Legion Lithopolis Post and life member of Pine Island Post. He was a loving husband and father and loved his pets. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by son Kirk, grandson Anthony and sisters Doris Wipert and Lois Irene Waddell. He is survived by Patricia his loving wife of 36 years, children Diana Jensen, Morgan Waddell, Polly Waddell and daughter-in-law Kate Waddell, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Graveside service will be held Friday, October 10, 2014 at 1 PM at Glen Rest Cemetery. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 17, 2014 at 11 AM at Epworth United Methodist Church, 5100 Karl Rd. SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL is assisting the family.
