William “Billy” McClave Holzapfel
William “Billy” McClave Holzapfel, 67, a Southwest Florida resident since 1979 including North Captiva, Captiva and most recently Bokeelia, formerly of Frederick, Md., passed away Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, in Cape Coral. He was born in Frederick, Md., Jan. 4, 1947, to William and Marion Holzapfel, now deceased.
He was of the Christian faith and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He graduated from the Blue Ridge School and went on to graduate from Western Kentucky University. He was a lover of his friends and family, music and life on the water. He was an accomplished carpenter who enjoyed playing guitar in his spare time. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a dependable friend. His positive outlook on life is only surpassed by the love he had for his friends and family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Tracy Smith Holzapfel of Bokeelia; three loving children, Christy Holzapfel Lininger (Jason) of Walkersville, Md., William Prior Holzapfel (Tiffany Crandall Holzapfel) of Bokeelia and Jacob Smith Holzapfel, also of Bokeelia; three grandchildren, Gabe Reese Lininger, Emma Elizabeth Lininger and William McClave Holzapfel; as well as his previous wife, Sherry Hiner Ferrell (Scott) of Frederick, Md.
Memorial services will be held at the family home on Saturday, Aug.30, at 4 p.m.
