MPIFCD responds to boat fire in Bokeelia
This boat was destroyed by fire late Monday night, Sept. 8. The MPIFCD responded to the blaze with the assistance of a number of other agencies.

The Matlacha/Pine Island Fire Department received a call of a boat fire in Bokeelia Monday, Sept. 8, at 10:48 p.m. Fire personnel quickly responded to extinguish the blaze.
There were no reported injuries and the fire is still under investigation by the State Fire Marshall’s Office. To prevent environmental damage, crews deployed booms and absorbent pads. Boat US was contracted by the owner for recovery and salvage operations.
Other agencies involved with the call included: NRC, FWC, U.S. Coast Guard, DEP, City of Fort Myers Hazmat Team and EOC.
