Hair Color Experts brings talent to Cape Coral
Women who come to Hair Color Experts at 3306 Del Prado Blvd. need not worry about the stylists getting their hair wrong – the owner is among the best in the business.
Gary Benson was once named the No. 1 stylist of the No. 1 salon in New Hampshire, which he owned. Soon after, he sold the shop in January and moved to Cape Coral.
“I had been vacationing here for the last 10 years and always wanted to open a salon here. It was hard because I had such a successful business in New Hampshire,” Benson said. “Someone offered to buy the salon up there, so I sold it and came here.”
The new salon, which was once a doctor’s office that he decorated himself, opened May 18, and even though Benson said people thought he was crazy to open out of season, the strategy seems to have paid off, as Cape Coral has welcomed him with open arms.
“A lot of that was because of my reputation and because of the Breeze. I have the strongest guarantee in the industry,” Benson said.
That means bringing in the best people; five certified master stylists who must take six courses a year to work there. They specialize in color and caritin smoothing treatments, Benson said.
Customers can get precision cutting, albeit a little more advanced. A woman’s cut is $30, with a shampoo and blowout is $50, and coloring is $115, which isn’t the same as the one you would get out of a bottle from a local store.
“Every product that touches you is imported from Italy. I’ve tried them all and I feel they have the best color. Germany has the best cutlery,” Benson said. “The clients absolutely love it. Their hair is soft and shiny.”
Benson said he had a huge salon in New Hampshire and doesn’t want to do that again. He said he wants to keep his shop small and quaint “like an art gallery.”
Hair Color Experts is open Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.; and Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.
