Cape Historical Museum to reopen today
The Cape Coral Historical Museum, closed for the months of July and August, will reopen to the public today, Sept. 3. Normal hours of operation are 1-4 p.m., Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The museum campus features a memorial rose garden and a native plant demonstration garden and includes three buildings housing a number of interesting exhibits showing the unique history of Cape Coral going back to theme of the homesteaders with an example of a cracker house as well as the history of pioneer settlers.
Other exhibits include such topics as the Rosen brothers Gulf American Land Development Corporation and how the city began and developed over the years. Also featured are the Cape Coral Gardens (known as the Rose Gardens), Nautilus Inn, Surfside Restaurant, Cape Coral Country Club, Yacht Club and more.
The public is invited to attend the monthly programs hosted by the Cape Coral Historical Society, held the second Tuesday of each month from October to May, at 2:30 p.m. The sessions are held at Cultural Park Theatre, 528 Cultural Park Blvd.
