Westin Resort offers meeting room space
Business professionals arriving in Southwest Florida who needs space equipped with meeting necessities can now rent a room by the hour in a moment’s notice at Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village.
“We are continually expanding our amenities for those working on the road,” Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village General Manager Eric Ashton said in a prepared statement. “Tangent allows our guests to host last-minute meetings with vital technology and work space that can’t be done in a coffee shop.”
Marketing and Sales Manager Stefanie Eakin said the marketing teams are always pushing out new and innovative enhancements and ideas to be added to Westin properties, which is how Tangent was introduced.
“This is one new one that they thought would work perfectly with all the Westin’s,” she said.
Tangent, a workspace offered at the Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village, was introduced to a couple test markets to see how well it would perform before it became a part of the Cape Coral property a few weeks ago.
“All the test markets did fantastic and did really well,” Eakin said. “We are really excited to see the turnout.”
The 250-square-foot space is large enough to accommodate four individuals. The room has four chairs located around a table, which is equipped with a conference phone, office supplies and wire or wireless internet space or computer hookup. The space also includes a flat screen television, the capability to Skype and video conference, floor to ceiling white boards, a printer, sound system and an XBOX 360 for DVDs or games.
Refreshments, such as water, are also served.
She said the space is easy, simple and perfect for those on the go.
“You can go in there and it is fully equipped and easy for you to use,” Eakin said of Tangent. “It’s a great impromptu meeting space that could be booked for anyone. It’s been a great addition to the resort.”
The room is $75 per hour to rent.
“If they want to rent it out all day they can absolutely do that because it is by the hour,” she said.
The space is located above the resorts lobby to the right of the spiral staircase.

In addition to Tangent, the resort recently included four new “breakout rooms” that overlook the marina and Caloosahatchee River on the second floor.
Eakin said the rooms have expansive outdoor terraces, a little kitchen with a refrigerator and bathroom for some of their guests for business meetings.
“The guests can sit out there between working and breaks,” she said of the terraces.
Eaking said it’s great being able to offer space for the smaller groups.
The breakout rooms can be converted into whatever style the guests would like. Eakin said the room can resemble a classroom style, banquet or a conference room when combining the rooms.
“The company might want to do all four rooms into a different presentation,” she said.
