Labor Day Golf Scramble set for Alden Pines

1 min read

Mark your calendars: Butch and Jan’s 15th Annual Labor Day Charity Golf Scramble to benefit Pine Island charities will be held Monday, Sept. 1.

The annual event will once again be held at Alden Pines Country Club, 14261 Clubhouse Drive, Bokeelia.

This year the “scramble” will be held in memory of Janet Green. Jan ran the Golf Scramble for 14 years until her passing last year.

Cost is $30 per person (collected at 8 a.m.) All teams should arrive before 8 a.m. for check-in.

A shotgun start will begin at 8:30 am.

There will be first and second place winners with a drawing for third and fourth place. The winning team will choose the Pine Island charity to receive the charity portion of the money.

There will also be prizes for long drives, closest to the pin and closest to the line.

Participants can sign up a four-person team or as an individual (organizers will pair singles up with others).

There will also be a 50/50 drawing and door prizes.

Those who have a new or gently used item suitable that they would like to donate as a door prize can call Butch at 239-243-5300.
