Bokeelia Boat Club to host Blessing of the Fleet March 20
All boaters are invited to motor or sail their way to the north end of the island to participate in the second annual Blessing of the Fleet. Join the Bokeelia Boat Club during this special ceremony intended to ensure safe and pleasurable hours on the water. The blessing will take place on Sunday, March 20, beginning at 1:45 p.m.
Those making their way into Jug Creek, will each receive a blessing at the docks of Coast Connection by a member of the island clergy. The blessing is open to all recreational boaters, anglers, canoers, kayakers or any other means of seafaring vessel. Following the blessing, site host Scott Player, owner of Coast Connection, will have meals of locally caught seafood dishes for purchase and live music for both boaters and landlubbers alike.
