2 min read

In response to a Breeze public records request for supporting documentation related to two highly critical consultants reports, the city of Cape Coral released Thursday two requests for proposal for dredging operations and Brazilian pepper tree removal and one request for bid for street sweeping services as well as a handful of e-mails, budget charts, graphs and photos.
Th city also has made available a “box filled to the brim with hand written notes, brochures and other documents” related to the report released Monday by Jim Martin, a consultant hired at $39 by City Manager Gary King. Martin examined public works operations and has suggested the city look at outsourcing dredging, exotic plant removal and street sweeping.
In response to some council and resident criticism of the report submitted by Martin, and an earlier consultant’s report on how the city receives and disburses fuel for its fleet of vehicles submitted by Bill Towler, King told council Monday night there was “reams” of supporting documentation for the “executive summaries” submitted.
The electronic records that have been released thus far are attached. Posting of information concerning the boxed hard copy documents is pending.
No documents have yet been released related to Towler’s fuel study as none have been provided by the city manager’s office, officials said Thursday.
