During October, 532,025 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport, an increase of 13 percent compared to October 2009. Year-to-date, passenger traffic is up 0.4 percent from the same period last year.

The traffic leader in October was Delta with 122,977 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were AirTran (79,598), Southwest (66,172), JetBlue (57,817) and US Airways (54,543).

Southwest Florida International Airport had 6,014 aircraft movements (takeoffs and landings), an increase of 8.7 percent compared to October 2009. Page Field General Aviation Airport saw 7,377 movements, an increase of 15 percent from October 2009. In addition, more than 3 million pounds of air freight moved through Southwest Florida International Airport in October 2010.
