Fugitive from North Carolina apprehended in Cape

Cape Coral police picked up a man Monday who is wanted in North Carolina for a sex offense.
Ike Robert Howard, 27, of 1218 S.E. Eighth St., Apt. 2, was arrested and charged on a warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. Listed as an out-of-state fugitive, he was being held at the Lee County Jail on Tuesday.
Howard was denied bond, according to jail booking records.
At about 9 p.m. Monday, a Cape officer was randomly running license plates at a stop light when an Arizona license plate came back expired. The officer conducted a traffic stop and the driver identified himself as Howard.
A check revealed that Howard had a warrant out of North Carolina. He was placed into custody and taken to the jail for extradition, a report states.
