To the editor:

I am emotional with respect for all those helping out with the fund raiser Nov. 7, at Woody’s Waterside for the employees of the Low Key Tiki who are currently out of work due to the arson fire at the Tiki. Especially to Jim Frock at Seven Seas Bait and Tackle in Matlacha for stepping forward with this idea and organizing it all. Just saying I am so impressed and thank you doesn’t seem enough, but thank you, Jim, for a fantastic idea. And thank you to all the sponsors (Lazy Flamingo, Woody’s Waterside, Waterfront Restaurant, Ragged Ass Saloon, BMI Dock Builders, Island Boat Works, the Matlacha Hookers, Inurhole Fishing Team, Bert’s Bar and Grill, Seven Seas Bait and Tackle, Monroe Canal Marina, Disaster Restoration, York Road Marina, Froggy’s, Old Pine Island Marine, and Bob and Annie’s Marine). And let’s not forget Strange Arrangement, Beans and Seeds, and Deb and the Dynamics, all three groups I personally absolutely love to listen to. To Eric of Woody’s, thanks for speaking up and offering Woody’s as “Plan B” when the weather indicated Picnic Island might not be the best choice.

This caring nature, that is so unique to Pine Island, is something all of you need to be complemented for. Thank you to each and everyone of you for making such an important event happen. And of course, thank you to all that attended to support the cause!
