By Staff | Oct 26, 2010

Lee Memorial Health System Foundation announces that the third annual “Breakfast with the Blades” is set for this Sunday, Oct. 31, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at The Hyatt Regency Resort & Spa in Bonita Springs.
This year’s Halloween-themed event allows guests to enjoy a gourmet hot breakfast with the full Florida Everblades hockey team. The Florida Everblades Team (affiliate of The Tampa Bay Lightning) will come out to the annual event to support life-saving care at The Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida. An anonymous donor will match all funds raised to help save the lives of Southwest Florida children.
Auction selections include fantastic trips to experience the romantic holiday magic of Portland, Maine, attend a taping of The Rachael Ray Show in New York City and attend the coveted “2011 NHL Winter Classic” to watch two of the NHL’s finest – Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin – battle it out on New Year’s Day at Heinz Field. Also featured will be a luxury trip to Indianapolis to watch the Dallas Cowboys take on the Indianapolis Colts and an opportunity, inclusive of on-field passes, to see the Philadelphia Eagles play division rival New York Giants. A rare trip to the Mile High City of Denver is also featured with a luxury package that includes Denver Nuggets versus Utah Jazz tickets. Included in the silent auction will be gourmet dinners, luxury spa packages, Miami Dolphins tickets and getaways to some of the finest golf courses and beach-side resorts.
Costumes are welcomed and encouraged at the fun family event. The annual event helps children learn about exercise and active play through interaction with highly-conditioned professional athletes.
Picone Financial Partners has returned for a third year as presenting sponsor.
“We are extremely grateful for the continued support of Picone Financial Partners and the entire Florida Everblades Organization for helping us raise funding for our pediatric patients,” said Jeannie Cummings, senior director of Marketing & Public Relations, Lee Memorial Health System Foundation. “We hope that the community will come out to support the event and help deliver excellence in health care to the children of our community.”
“We are proud to continue our partnership with Lee Memorial Health System and The Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida,” said Said Craig Brush, president, The Florida Everblades, also in a prepared statement. “We value our community partnerships very highly and the entire Organization is committed to doing great things for the children of Southwest Florida.”
Presenting Sponsor John Picone, President, Picone Financial Partners, LLC added, “The Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida is a wonderful and amazing place for children to receive health care regardless of their parents’ financial situation. We believe very strongly in supporting this life-saving care and are honored to again be affiliated with this first-class event.”
Tickets are $100 per person, or $50 for children 12 and under. Corporate sponsorships and table discounts are available.
