Hurricane Igor advisory for 8 a.m. Sept. 20
At 8 a.m. AST, Igor was moving toward the north-northwest near 21 MPH. A turn toward the northeast and an increase in forward speed are expected in the next 24 to 36 hours. ON the forecast track, Igor will continue moving away from Bermuda and pass offshore of the southeastern tip of Newfoundland on Tuesday.
Maximum sustained winds remain near 75 MPH with higher gusts. Igor is a category one hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson hurricane wind scale. Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours and Igor is expected to become a strong extratropical cyclone in the next day or two.
