Dear Citizens of Lee County
To the editor:
The voters spoke last Tuesday (Aug. 24) and I was defeated in my bid for a third term as a School Board member. I want thank all the citizens that voted in our election and for contributing to the election process.
I have been overwhelmed with supportive communications from so many of you. It is truly comforting that my eight years of service meant that much to so many of you and that you have seen that I was a part of a very special dynamic that enabled our teachers, support personnel and administrators to make Lee County improve year after year, consistently for the past eight years.
Whether you point to our standardized curriculum, lesson plan alignment, improved data analysis or comprehensive high schools, the data speaks for itself on this board’s and this superintendent’s leadership that provided the resources, direction and vision that brought Lee County to its highest point in history. I have been proud and humbled by being elected to serve this community as a board member and board chairman.
I want to thank each and every LCSD employee for doing what they do, each and every day, that gave this job purpose because it was each of you that I worked so hard to provide you the best support, direction and leadership that I could possibly provide.
Lastly, I want to thank every citizen, taxpayer, parent and community member for allowing me the opportunity to serve this community. Words cannot fully express how blessed I have been throughout my eight years serving this community. It is an experience and journey that I will never, ever forget.
Steven K. Teuber
Chairman, Lee County Schools
