Geraldine Ferraro

Geraldine (nee Rodgers) Ferraro, died on Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Born in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late Edward and Evelyn Rodgers, she was a graduate of Rehoboth High School in 1958, and a lifelong resident of Sussex County, DE. She also maintained a residence in St. James City on Pine Island, FL.

Mrs. Ferraro was a loving homemaker for years in Millsboro. Geraldine was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Matlacha Hookers, both on Pine Island. She enjoyed fishing and boating and riding on the motorcycle.

Geraldine was the beloved wife of Philip Ferraro, Jr. for 25 years. She was the devoted mother of Seth Mumford of Millsboro and Tim Mumford of Georgetown, DE. She was the mother-in-law of Susan Mumford and Robin Mumford. She was the loving grandmother of Trey, Lara, Jenna, and Mara Mumford. She is also survived by her sister Joan Stephenson of Millsboro, and her stepsons Raymond Ferraro of Aston, PA and Ronald Ferraro of Millsboro.

Relatives and friends were invited to her memorial service 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 13, at the Social Quarter of the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, 32628 Oak Orchard Road, Millsboro, DE 19966.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Pancreatic and Related Cancers Surgical Research and Education Fund. Checks can be made out to Thomas Jefferson University.
