By Staff | Aug 7, 2010

When a person is forced to escape domestic violence or sexual abuse, they often turn to the Abuse Counseling and Treatment Center which serves Lee, Hendry and Glades Counties.
To help support this non-profit service, ARTS for ACT will be hosting Arts for ACT 2010, “Arabian Nights” on Friday, Aug, 14 at the Hyatt Regency in Bonita Springs.
Tickets cost $125 per person and $1,500 to $1,800 a table.
Reserved seating is available.
Doors open at 4 p.m.
Attendees can expect bedouin tents, belly dancers, genies, sultans, fortune tellers, snake charmers and more.
“We want to make it a fun evening,” said Arts for ACT CEO Jennifer Benton.
Benton said the agency is hoping for a strong turnout.
“It’s been a really tough year and really need the support,” she said.
From 4 to 7 p.m. there will be a Middle Eastern bazaar with spices, soaps, purses, clothing, plants and jewelry, Benton said.
There will be a silent auction from 4 to 9 p.m. Dinner and a live auction begins at 7 p.m. A yet-to-be-named well-known celebrity will emcee the fundraiser.
There are more than 150 auction items in the live and silent auction including fine art, jewelry, purses, sculptures and memorabilia.
For those looking to make an entire evening of the event, the Hyatt is offering special room rates of $139 per night.
