The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office reports that the 2-1/2 year old boy, Ethan Rafferty, who was found in his family swimming pool July 28 by his mother, died at All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg over the weekend.
Ethan’s mother pulled him out of the pool at 1242 Marlow St., Port Charlotte, then called CCSO at 10:36 a.m. Deputies and EMS responded and he was transported to Peace River Regional Medical Center; he was then flown to the St. Petersburg hospital in critical condition.
The case remains open at this time as CCSO Major Crimes Unit detectives and the Department of Children and Families continue their investigation.
