To the editor:

I just wanted it to be stated that the concrete path that runs along side Stringfellow Road on Pine Island is in fact a “bike path” as it is titled by the Pine Island Chamber of Commerce. As my friend and I were riding bikes on the bike path at night, we got pulled over by an officer telling us we were not supposed to be on the “walking path.” He gave us each a written warning saying that it is illegal to ride bikes on it, that we were supposed to be in the road. He was obviously not from here. If he was he would know that they built it for bicyclists and hikers. I wish they would inform the officers that they send out here so that the citizens of the community can enjoy the bike path with out being interrupted by police and feeling like a criminal for no reason.
