Winn-Dixie continues to support those in need on Pine Island with a special event slated for this weekend. On Saturday, July 24, Winn-Dixie will team up with the Beacon of HOPE to raise money for islanders in need of a helping hand. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. all are welcome to visit the Winn-Dixie where they will find items for sale on the sidewalk at the store entrance. In addition to assorted deli, produce and bakery items, employees of Winn-Dixie will be grilling hot dogs, host a wine tasting and have balloons for children attending the event. Inside the store, other specials will be offered and live music will be provided by local musicians. All proceeds from the sale of special items will benefit the Beacon of HOPE.

“The Beacon helps so many people in need of any extra funds they can get. our goal is to raise $2,500 for the Beacon,” said store manager Dan Longhren. “We will have donation containers at all of the registers if anybody would like to help. We welcome everybody to come out and have some fun with us and help the Beacon of HOPE help so many.”
