Accreditation Commission invites public comment on Cape Coral Police Department
A team of assessors from the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation is soliciting public comment on the operations of the Cape Coral Police Department as part of their accreditation review. The team will be in Cape Coral on Aug. 4 to review all aspects of the Cape Coral Police Department’s operations. The review is conducted every three years.
“Maintaining this accreditation means that the Cape Coral Police Department is providing the highest level of professional service to our community,” said interim Police Chief Jay Murphy. “We will be meeting the standards of performance excellence as determined by the Commission.”
As part of the onsite assessment, the team will accept comments from the public as well as members of the Police Department. A copy of the standards manual is available online at www.flaccreditation.org. Click on “Law Enforcement” and then “Standards Manual.” The document is the “Comparative Compliance Standards Manual 4.0.18.” Also, you can contact the department’s Public Information Officer at (239) 574-0448 for a copy.
