To the editor:

In reference to a letter against the Dollar General: If you don’t like the Dollar General on the Island then you can leave if you’d like. I’m educated and I have served my country in the military and I would shop at Dollar General, so am I downgrading myself? Am I some low life because I like low prices? Let me guess, you?re against commercial fishing also? That’s what made this Island to begin with. Not everybody can be as up-scale as you sir, my guess is your from up north “a Yankee” as my father would say. Let this Island be what it has always been, move to Naples if you want “upscale” Pine Island is Pine Island and there’s nothing you can do about it. My family was one of the first on this Island and people like you should have no say anyways. Go home!

P.S. I have nothing against people from the North, just people who act like they’re better than others. Men don’t fight for our country so someone can complain about a Dollar General.
