Members of the Cape Coral Caloosa Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association are honoring local business owner Dianne Young with the Associate of the Year Award.
Young, owner of Diamonds by Dianne at 2323 Del Prado Blvd., South, has been a regular donor to the ABWA when it holds fund-raisers and auctions, explained President Angela Puzio.
“We are a group of women, all different ages and jobs,” she said. “It’s kind of a networking group and we raise money for the continuing education of our members.”
The local chapter of ABWA is a non-profit organization, said Puzio, and its fund-raising activities help local female high school graduates and businesswomen either go to college or receive more job training.
“We are a support group for each other and it is a great way to network,” said Puzio. “We try to have a different fund-raiser throughout the year and Dianne has always been an avid supporter.”
Each year the ABWA hands out Associate of the Year awards, as well as the Woman of the Year award. Both winners are honored during fund-raiser ball hosted by the ABWA.
Local members of the association will visit Young at the Diamonds by Dianne store Thursday at 10 a.m. and hand her a plaque.
