Marianne Paton Kiwanian Carlyn Herring presents the 2010 Outstanding Student award to Liliana Perez.

Each year, members of the Greater Pine Island Kiwanis Club presents an award to one Pine Island Elementary School student. During last week’s fifth grade graduation ceremony at PIE, Carlyn Herring announced the winner of the 2010 Outstanding Student award.

“This award is not necessarily presented to the student with the best academic achievements, but for the student who has the right attitude and demonstrates that she or he is making good decisions in life,” Herring said.

This year’s Kiwanis Outstanding Student is fifth grader, Liliana Perez.
