Dollar General Store
To the editor:
This is to the GPICA and Phil Buchanan.
First of all, when was the meeting for the people on Pine Island to vote whether we want Dollar General or not? I do not remember any such meeting. Also, do not know if you have shopped in any of these stores or not, but they are at the low grade of any type of store you would want to shop in.
I do not know about any one else on this Island feels, but I would like to keep it to the up-scale lifestyle, not down grade it with a store like this. If you or any one in the GPICA went out looking for some kind of store to bring to the Island, and this is all you got, you fell way short. If this store is a done deal all you have succeeded in doing is down grading our little piece of paradise. It makes no difference how the building looks outside it is what is inside they sell and the people it will bring in. You say it will not be a franchise store, so that just means that they will bring all of their people in they want to run it and just have a small amount of Pine Island people working in it to satisfy you and the GPICA.
I can tell you right now, I will never step a foot in the place and talk against it 100 percent. As far as I am concerned, you and the GPICA have done Pine Island and its people a disservice.
