To the editor:

What would happen if those who are clamoring to stop drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico had their way? Two things.

It would leave more oil for other countries which are drilling in the Gulf, and wouldn’t lessen the risk of another accident.

It might also cause our politicians to realize that there is more oil and natural gas than we need on federally owned lands.
