Alva man arrested following girlfriend’s college graduation

An Alva man wanted for felony parole violation out of Georgia and accused of stealing a truck in Marion County, Fla. was arrested Thursday night after watching his girlfriend’s college graduation.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a tip from the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office that Mark Harrison, Jr., 24, was headed to Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall for tonight’s graduation ceremonies for Edison State College.
Deputies located the stolen truck in the parking lot and, with the help of Edison State College Police, set up surveillance units. Following the ceremony, at approximately 8:40 p.m., Harrison returned to the stolen truck and was immediately arrested.
Harrison, of 18771 South River Road, Alva, was charged with parole violation out of Georgia and grand theft auto.
