Scrapbook enthusiasts plan to make memories for others
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida will be the beneficiary of the “Making Memories for Others” Scrapbooking fundraiser Saturday, May 22, at St. Francis Xavier in Fort Myers, hosted by local Creative Memories consultant Beth Beller. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The creation of personal scrapbooks, photos, journals, letters and other mementos, and digital organization and scrapbooking have become a hot new interest, and this event is designed for both beginners and experienced enthusiasts.
Admission is $20 and includes lunch sponsored and provided by Cheeseburger in Paradise, door prizes and a special Make-A-Wish product from Creative Memories. There will also be a raffle and a silent auction with wonderful prizes donated from local businesses such as The Gullwing Beach Resort, Tarpon Bay Explorers, University Grill, Prawnbroker Restaurant, Getaway Marina, Broadway Palm Dinner Theater and many, many more. Scarpbooking supplies will also be available for sale with proceeds going towards the fundraiser. And feel free to bring any old, unwanted gold you have lying around. There will be a certified buyer on hand to offer cash for the gold just taking up space in your jewelry box. Proceeds from the sale of your gold will also be donated back to the event.
The funds raised will enable Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida to continue to serve children who are facing difficult battles against life-threatening medical conditions. To date, more than 7,000 Southern Florida children have had wishes granted and over 100 more qualified children are awaiting their magical wish. The average cost of a wish is $5,000 and we need support from everyone in the community to be able to continue making these wishes a reality.
Seating is limited to the first 100 participants and is filling up fast. To register, or for more information, please contact Beth Beller at 239-851-6654.
