Special to the Eagle Blessing the fleet were Fr. Michael Hughes, Rev. Aubrey Cort and Fr. Ryan Wright.

Members of the Bokeelia Boat Club held its first annual Blessing of the Fleet event on March 7, at Jug Creek in front of the Coast Connection docks. Fr. Michael Hughes, Fr. Ryan Wright and Rev. Aubrey Cort gave the blessing to 21 boats as they paraded past the docks. A large crowd of spectators lined the docks.

Scott Player, owner of Coast Connection, had lots of seafood available for purchase and live entertainment. The sponsors thank everyone for their participation and tremendous support.

Plans are under way for next year’s Blessing of the Fleet event.
