Kottkamp campaign tally tops $660,000

By Staff | Apr 1, 2010

Tallahassee – The Jeff Kottkamp for Attorney General Campaign announced Thursday its preliminary contributions for the first quarter of 2010. The campaign received total contributions of more than $270,000. Since announcing his candidacy for Attorney General, Lt. Gov. Kottkamp’s campaign has raised over $660,000 in total contributions, his campaign office said.
“I am grateful for the financial support our campaign has received from hard working Floridians from all across our great state,” Kottkamp said in a prepared statement. “While my opponents are campaigning full-time every day, I continue to fight for the safety and security of our citizens by supporting legislation to close down pill mills which are a major contributor to the 6 people who die each day in Florida from the overdose of prescription drugs. I am also working to save thousands of aerospace jobs in Florida and to maintain our nation’s position as the world leader in space exploration.”
Campaign supporters include prominent citizens of communities across Florida including: Wayne Huizenga (former owner of the Miami Dolphins), Rich DeVos (current owner of the Orlando Magic), Ambassador Francis Rooney, Dr. Steve West (immediate Past President of the Florida Medical Association), Tom Petway (co-founder of the Jacksonville Jaguars), Hjalma Johnson (Past President of the American Bankers Association), and Gary Morse (Founder of The Villages).
The campaign has received more than 1,750 individual campaign contributions. In addition, Kottkamp has the support of the Fraternal Order of Police and 20 sheriffs, more than any other Attorney General candidate, and more than 35 members of the Florida House and Senate who believe that Jeff Kottkamp is the right choice for the citizens of Florida as their next Attorney General.
