Woman reports she was raped, robbed
A woman was reportedly raped and robbed after leaving a bar in Fort Myers with three men early Saturday morning.
Officers responded to a call at 4:40 a.m. at Tarpon Point, according to a report from the Cape Coral Police Department. A woman, located in the lobby of one of the apartment buildings by a security officer, said she had been raped and robbed of $1,000.
The woman told police that she went to several clubs Saturday night and early Sunday morning. Toward the end, she left her friend after meeting three black males at a bar on McGregor Boulevard in Fort Myers. The woman reported that the men were “Rastafarian looking,” the report states.
She reported leaving the bar with the men and getting into a white van. The woman told police that they were going to someone’s home, but soon after leaving the bar one of the men forcibly took off her clothes and sexually battered her in the back of the van, according to the report.
She was then forced out of the van and left on the side of the road in a location she thought was Fort Myers, the report states. The woman told police that while she was being raped, she thinks the other two men went through her belongings and took approximately $1,000.
The woman was transported to the Phoenix Center in Fort Myers for an examination, then transported to her home, according to the report.
